Abstract - As already done in the past, a series of detailed reports (the “sixth addenda”) concerning other
Stephanorhinus kirchbergensis (Jäger, 1835-39) remains discovered on Eurasian territory are taken into consideration here as an integration of seven other previous papers (listed below). The
S. kirchbergensis material discussed here comes from Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Albania, Poland, Ukraine, China, and Japan. Furthermore, it was deemed appropriate to provide here two updated overviews reporting on the thirteen Polish sites (the “Poland” paragr.) as well as a certain number of Chinese ones (the “China” paragr.) that yielded S. kirchbergensis remains throughout history. At the same time, it is considered suitable to reiterate some fundamental notes concerning
S. kirchbergensis.

Riassunto breve - Con l’analogo criterio già adottato in passato, vengono qui trattate (“sesta addenda”) ulteriori segnalazioni di resti di Stephanorhinus kirchbergensis (Jäger, 1835-39) rinvenuti sul territorio eurasiatico a ulteriore integrazione dei sette articoli precedenti elencati più sotto. Il materiale ascritto a S. kirchbergensis preso qui in considerazione proviene da Spagna, Italia, Slovenia, Albania, Polonia, Ucraina, Cina e Giappone. Con l’occasione, si è ritenuto opportuno proporre anche due panoramiche aggiornate a riguardo tanto dei tredici siti polacchi (paragr. “Poland”), quanto di alcuni siti cinesi (paragr. “China”) che, nel corso del tempo, hanno restituito resti di S. kirchbergensis. Vengono anche riproposte alcune sostanziali note al riguardo di S. kirchbergensis.

Riassunto breve - Il presente contributo intende aggiornare e integrare le conoscenze sul popolamento della pianura friulana da parte dei gruppi mesolitici, attraverso il riesame del materiale litico dei siti di Cassacco-Mulino Ferrant, Ragogna e del Riparo di Biarzo - US 3A (Udine, Italia). Per tutti e tre i casi è stata proposta un’attribuzione preliminare al Castelnoviano. L’analisi ha permesso di individuare le possibili aree di approvvigionamento e di descrivere in dettaglio le catene operative di produzione litica, articolate attorno a una curata produzione lamellare per percussione indiretta/pressione, da una parte, e all’ottenimento di schegge e schegge laminari per percussione diretta, dall’altra. La discussione degli aspetti tecno-tipologici ha permesso di confermare e caratterizzare la frequentazione castelnoviana di Cassacco, mentre, per gli altri due siti, la presenza di materiali intrusivi rende più problematica l’interpretazione.

Abstract - The present contribution aims to update and integrate the knowledge on the peopling of the Friulian plain by Mesolithic groups through the re-examination of the lithic assemblages from the sites of Cassacco-Mulino Ferrant, Ragogna and Riparo di Biarzo - SU 3A (Udine, Italy). A preliminary attribution to the Castelnovian was proposed for all three lithic assemblages. We suggest possible areas for lithic supply, and we describe in detail the lithic reduction schemes, consisting of a curated lamellar production by indirect percussion/pressure on the one hand, and the production of flakes and laminar flakes by direct percussion on the other. The techno-typological analysis confirms and characterises the Castelnovian occupation of Cassacco. For the other two sites, the presence of intrusive materials makes interpretation more challenging.
